St. Timothy's Lutheran School
offers a strong curriculum, approved

Core Subjects: Math, Language Arts, Reading and
Science
Additional Subjects: as Science, Social Studies, Spelling, Handwriting and Religion
are taught daily at the appropriate grade level.
Weekly
instruction in: Physical Education, Music, Art, Computer and
Library for all students in Junior Kindergarten and above.
I n
addition to the outstanding curriculum, each class at St.
Timothy’s participates in a number of activities which makes
learning fun.
Chapel
Presentation
All classes are given
the opportunity to lead the weekly
Chapel service once during the
year. They perform skits and sing
songs related to a specific Bible lesson.
Book
Buddies
Older students visit
Kindergarteners and read them
stories twice a month.
Parent
Helpers
Parents have many
opportunities to help in our class
through reading, painting, centers, driving on field trips,
special projects, etc.
Special
Days
Orientation Day, Mother’s
Day Tea, Thanksgiving Feast Day,
Memory Day, 100th Day, Gingerbread Day, Christmas and
Spring Programs, Zero the Hero, and Water District Visit.
Garden
Children plant and
tend a class garden with parent helpers.

Learning
is not limited to the classroom as kindergarteners venture out
several times during the year for fun and education.
Planetarium
The students study
stars and constellations each
year. The culmination of this unit
of study is a visit to the planetarium at DeAnza
College.
Visit
to a Local Business
When
opportunities arise, the children learn about
our community by visiting a restaurant or store.
This trip is tailored to each specific class and their
interests.

Some
very special programs teach kindergarteners valuable lessons
about life and art which benefits them throughout their lives.
Kids
Who Care
The kindergarten students
participate in a community service
project during the year called Kids Who
Care. Last year the children chose to clean up
the St. Timothy's campus.
Art
Docents
Parent volunteers come to the class six
times a year to give a presentation and hands
on project. Kindergarteners projects include
Train Collages, Clay Animals, Merry-Go- Round
Horses, Fish Prints, Oil Pastel Houses, and
Portraits. The students' work is displayed during the
school-wide Art Show. Parents and guests are also invited
to come and admire the work of all of our students at the Art
Show.

“Weekly Reader” magazine from Scholastic, Inc.
