St. Timothy's Lutheran School
offers a strong curriculum, approved
by the State of California, and SO MUCH MORE!
Core Subjects: Math, Language Arts, Reading and
Science
Additional Subjects: as Science, Social Studies, Spelling, Handwriting and Religion
are taught daily at the appropriate grade level.
Weekly
instruction in: Physical Education, Music, Art, Computer and
Library for all students in Junior Kindergarten and above.
 

In
addition to the outstanding curriculum, each class at St.
Timothy’s participates in a number of activities which makes
learning fun.
Chapel
Presentation
All classes are given the
opportunity to lead the weekly
Chapel service once during the
year. They perform skits and sing
songs related to a specific Bible lesson.

Buddies
Third graders visit
Junior Kindergarteners and read
them stories twice a month.
Ocean
Unit
Filled with many
activities, including a guyes speaker and making oceans in a
bottle.
Gingerbread
Houses
A very fun project done
with Kindergarteners.
Build
a Rain Forest
The children learn the
layers of the forest and carefully
construct some of the animals that
live there.
Resurrection
Eggs
Each egg
represents a part of the Easter
story.
Food
Projects
Applesauce-Making Day, Fruit
and Vegetable Days, and Butter-Making Day.
Special

Thanksgiving Feast, Mini-Center
Day, Read Across America Day, Outdoor Fun Day
Science
Projects and Activities
Projects vary each year and
include Living in Salt Water and Winter Weather
Observation Calendars. Activities include Butterfly
Gardens and Frog Ponds.

Learning is not limited to the
classroom as JKers venture out several times during the year
for fun and education.
Pumpkin
Patch/Farm
We learn about
the pumpkin’s life cycle
while visiting a local pumpkin patch and farm.
PETCO
"Fur, Feathers, & Fins"
Children learn about the characteristics and habitats of fish, reptiles,
birds, and small animals.

Some
very special programs teach Kindergarteners valuable lessons
about life and art which benefits them throughout their lives.

Who Care
Junior Kindergarten students
participate in a community service project during
the year called Card
Connection. The children make cards throughout the
year. St. Timothy's Visitation Pastor delivers these
cards and projects to the shut-ins of the congregation..
Art
Docents
Parent volunteers come to the class six
times a year to give a presentation and lead a hands
on project. Junior Kindergarten projects include
American Indians, Seasons/Weather, Houses,
Sports, Imaginary Plants/Flowers, and a
Matisse-style Collage.
