Membership

Support each other and join together in fellowship to build up the body of Christ.

101 COFFEE HOST

Prepare coffee and serve refreshments on Sunday mornings.

102 SPECIAL EVENTS

Help out with special annual events; e.g., Church Picnic, Harvest Dinner.

103 NAME TAG TABLE

Set up and work the Name Tag Table on Sunday mornings.

104 CO-ED SOFTBALL TEAM

Play in a spring or summer, recreational, co-ed church league.

105 SUPER SENIORS FELLOWSHIP

Meet monthly with a group of seniors for fellowship activities.

106 ST. TIMOTHY’S NEIGHBORS UNANIMOUS

Fellowship group for adults that meets monthly.

107 WEST SIDE SAINTS

Fellowship group for adults that meets monthly.

108 COLLEGE / CAREER GROUP

This Young Adult Ministry is for post-high school adults ages 18-25. We will seek to discover God's calling in our adult lives, through Bible study, service and leadership opportunities, and various trips and outings.

Maturity

Encourage each member to grow as a disciple of our Lord.

201 CHURCH LIBRARY

Assist librarian between services to help people find and check out books.

202 EMAIL PRAYER GROUP

Receive email prayer requests of people to pray for.

203 MEN’S BIBLE STUDY

Meet weekly at a restaurant for Bible study.

204 IRON MEN

Men’s maturity group open to all men of the church.  Meets once a month for either food & discussion of a topic important to Christian men, or a service project.

205 GROWING CHRISTIAN FATHERS

An action group for fathers of pre-teen kids aimed at helping men grow as fathers and individuals.

206 WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

Meet monthly for women's Bible study, fellowship and support.

207 ZEST

Meet weekly for women's Bible class and fellowship.

208 CHRISTCARE

Participate in a ChristCare group for community building & care, biblical equipping, prayer & worship, and mission service.

209 CROSSWAYS

Join a 60 week (over 3 years) study of the whole Bible, from beginning to end (one may join at any time).

210 ADULT EDUCATION

Join one or several of the short-term (usually 6-8 weeks) explorations of a variety of subjects.

 

Ministry

Help each member to discover his or her unique gifts in ministry and to reach out in loving service to the congregation, to our community, and to the world.

301 LOVE INC (Love In the Name of Christ)

Helping needy people in a variety of ways: budget management, transport, basic home repairs, etc.

302 FOOD DONATION DELIVERY

Deliver food donations collected at November Thankoffering to community agencies.

303 ADOPT-A-FAMILY

Coordinate and deliver necessities and holiday gifts to Christmastime "adopted" families.

304 HELPING HANDS / SERVICE ACTION

Provide meals to families during times of crisis; help with memorial receptions. 

305 HANDS ON WHEELS

Provide transportation for members needing assistance, as needed.

306 FISH

Help bag food once a month for the needy at Transfiguration Catholic Church.

307 PRISON / JAIL MINISTRY

Join a team visiting inmates for Bible study or worship twice per month.

308 MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)– PARTICIPANT

Participate in a group that supports and encourages mothers.

309 MOPPETS– CARE GIVER

Provide childcare during MOPS meetings (curriculum provided).

310 SISTERS

Participate in a group of moms of school-aged children & teens.

311 QUILTERS & CUT-UPS

Make quilts, trim stamps, soup labels, etc. Meets twice monthly.

312 PINS AND NEEDLES

Meets weekly at church to work on sewing, knitting, crocheting projects..

313 SAN JOSE FAMILY SHELTER

Provide activities 1 time per year for shelter children. 3rd Friday of every month, 7-8 pm.

314 CONVALESCENT HOME MINISTRY

Visit those living in convalescent homes.

315 STEPHEN MINISTRY

Complete training course and serve as a caregiver for those going through difficult life changes.

 

Mission

Invite all people into relationship with Jesus Christ. 

401 VISITOR FOLLOW-UP

Make contacts with Saturday night / Sunday morning visitors.

402 NEIGHBORHOOD VISITATION

Canvass neighborhoods with information about St. Timothy's and invitations to worship.

403 ALPHA:

SMALL GROUP LEADER

Facilitate small group discussion among ALPHA participants.

DINNER SUPPORT

Work on a team that provides meals at the beginning of each ALPHA meeting.

BOOK TABLE COORDINATOR

Work with ALPHA leaders to order and maintain a supply of resources for ALPHA participants.

TREASURER

Be responsible for all budgets and finances related to the ALPHA course.

WORSHIP LEADER

Prepare for and lead worship during each of the sessions of the ALPHA course. 

404 PUBLICITY

Experience or interest in publicity to help promote the church and school. 

405 GLOBAL MISSIONS

Keep congregation aware of missionaries and their work—especially those supported by the congregation.

 

Magnification

Proclaim the Good News of salvation by grace through faith in public worship.

501 COMMUNION PREP / CLEAN-UP

Work with the Altar Guild to prepare and clean up communion.

502 ALTAR GUILD (SANCTUARY SET UP)

Work to prepare sanctuary and communion for worship on Sunday mornings.

503 COMMUNION ASSISTANT

Assist pastors with communion distribution during worship services.

504 READER

Read Scriptures at services of worship.

505 SOUND SYSTEM OPERATOR

Work the sound system during worship services.

506 WORSHIP POWER POINT

Advance slides for Worship Service.

507 USHER

Usher during Sunday morning worship.

508 GREETER

Greet people with a smile as they arrive for worship. Identify a new face or family during the worship service and introduce yourself after the service. If they're a visitor, welcome them to St. Timothy's.

509 CANTOR

Chant portions of liturgy for Sunday morning worship.

510 CHOIR

Sing at Sunday morning worship and weekly rehearsals.

511 CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP TEAM

Two possibilities: Saturday night at 5:00 and Sunday morning at 11:15; weekly rehearsals.

512 WORSHIP ENSEMBLE

Play in an instrumental group for the 8:15 & 9:45 am Sunday services.

513 BELL CHOIR

Participate in adult bell choir and weekly rehearsals.

514 ORGANIST

Serve as a substitute organist during worship.

515 PIANIST

Provide piano accompaniment for church choirs.

516 INSTRUMENTALIST

Share in musical presentations at services of worship.

Children & Youth

601 SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER OR ASSISTANT

Teach Biblical lessons to children using provided curriculum & materials.

602 MUSIC SONG LEADER — SUNDAY SCHOOL

Teach and lead children in song.

603 NURSERY CHILDCARE

Provide care for children four years of age & younger during worship.

604 JR./SR. HIGH TEACHER

Teach Sunday School or midweek Bible studies.

605 CONFIRMATION SMALL GROUP LEADER

Work weekly with confirmation students.

606 JR./SR. HIGH YOUTH WORKER

Assist Director of Youth & Family in planning events and supervising youth.

Interest in acting or coaching plays that would be used either in worship settings or special programs.
