Life and Service Seminars
(C.L.A.S.S.) 301

C.L.A.S.S. 301 is designed to match members with the ministry
opportunities available in and through St. Timothys. The
course will help people discover their S.H.A.P.E. (Spiritual
Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences) for ministry
and put their individual gifts to work in service of the Lord.
Adopted

needy families in order to help provide necessities, as well
as the extras that help make the holiday special.

serving nursing /rehabilitation homes in Christ's name. We meet
three times at month (the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday's) at two
different locations. The 1st Thursday we meet in the morning
from 10:30 to 11:30. The 2nd and 4th Thursday's we meet in the
afternoon from 1:45 to 2:45. We begin with a Bible Study and
then sing familiar hymns. We serve refreshments and cookies
or candy to the residents and have fellowship with them as much
as possible. All volunteers are trained before serving.
FISH

St. Timothy's participates in the community-operated FISH
program. FISH is an inter-denominational Christian agency
that provides food and other emergency assistance to people
in crisis situations. Many people are needed to work as coordinators,
grocery baggers, and to answer the telephone. FISH Collection
Sunday is the third Sunday of the month. Look for collection
bins in the church entryway & Fellowship Hall.
Habitat
for Humanity
Thrivent Financial For Lutherans and Habitat For Humanity
have formed an alliance to help people in need of simple,
decent, affordable housing. Thrivent Builds is a four-year,
$105 million commitment by Thrivent Financial to mobilize
thousands of volunteers and fund home construction. Volunteers
can help build homes in their local communities across the
U.S. in partnership with people facing critical housing needs.
Hands
on Wheels

Church members who need a car ride to church-related activities
may be helped through this ministry. Some members are served
on a regular basis, e.g., every Sunday; some are served for
occasional events. A list of volunteers is maintained and
rides are coordinated with a volunteer living closest to the
person needing a ride.
Love
INC
St Timothy's is part of the Love "In the Name of Christ"
network in the Santa Clara County. People who are experiencing
difficulties can call the central Helpline where they are
offered various kinds of help, including budgeting classes.
Volunteers at St. Timothy's participate in various services
(transportation, household repair, yard work). Or they can
help at the office to answer phones or do other office work.
A Contact person from St Timothy's makes the link between
the central office and volunteers from this congregation.
Volunteers are trained (one hour) and given orientation for
their work. A volunteer might be called a couple times a year
to help out. The Contact person might put in 2-3 hours per
month.

MOPS is an international Christian organization,
the purpose of which is to nurture every mother of preschoolers

month, in the Carter Avenue Facility. Click here

and support services for up to 90 days, in a clean and safe
environment. The Shelter addresses and provides basic needs
of each family so that time and energy are directed to finding
employment and permanent housing. Intensive case management

to become self-sufficient. Case Managers provide supportive

it is all about making connections with other women in a similar
stage of family life, learning how to juggle the demands of
life in a better and more satisfying way while still taking
care of yourself and your connection with God.
Stephen
Ministry
Stephen Ministers undergo 50 hours of training to provide distinctively
