Children's Sunday School
Preschool to K classes will begin at 9:45am on Sunday mornings by gathering in room C6 for songs and movement. The Preschool 2 class (ages 4+) and the Kindergarten class then move to their classrooms for class time. Children should be picked up from their classrooms at 10:45am.

Elementary grades should go directly to your classrooms at 9:45am. Collect extra Jam Store points for being on time! Everyone is welcome to gather in the Great Room for Kid’s Worship from 10:45—10:55am.

Sunday School Teaching Goals
Preschool and Kindergarten
The preschool and kindergarten classes will enjoy exploring well-known Bible stories as they learn about God’s love for them. During the months of September through December, they will be learning about Old Testament stories leading up to Jesus’ birth. After Christmas break, preschool through kindergarten classes will be learning about many of the classic New Testament Bible stories.
· Preschool Who is God and where is He? How do we pray? Classic stories such as Noah’s Ark, Moses, Jesus’ birth, etc. Songs – Jesus Loves Me, This Little Light of Mine and Away In A Manger.
· Kindergarten In addition to the preschool lessons, the Kindergarteners will also spend time learning the Lord’s Prayer.
Elementary Grades 1-5
Elementary students will use materials selected from Luther’s Small Catechism to introduce and reinforce the basic principles of our faith for the first 8 weeks of Sunday School. From December through May our curriculum changes to the “Faith Weaver” series from Group Publishing.
· First Grade will focus on learning John 3:16, Seven Days of Creation and the Ten Commandments.
· Second Grade will learn about the 12 Apostles, the Ten Commandments and study the symbols and seasons of the church.
· Third Grade will begin to learn how to use their Bibles, learn the books of the Bible and focus on the 23rd Psalm.
· Fourth Grade will review the books of the Bible, learn about the Apostles’ Creed and the Great Commission. They will also study about Martin Luther and begin some basic Bible Geography.
· Fifth Grade will study the Beatitudes, explore worship and review books of the Bible, as well as review everything that has been studied in First through Fourth grades.
